Snead Island is a small island near Bradenton, Florida. The island is primarily residential, though there are two private dry boat storage facilities and remnants of a former palm-tree nursery. Much of the island is still undeveloped. Most of the island’s residents are native Floridians, which is atypical in the surrounding Manatee County area. Property values in the area have risen steadily since 2005.
Emerson Point Preserve is a 365 acres (1.48 km2) preserve operated by Manatee County on the western end of Snead Island.
